Purple tint woes

I?ve been through four different brand new in box Samsung Galaxy Nexus devices, and all of them have had a purple tint to their greys that only got worse at low brightness levels. This issue is a pretty well documented one, at least by various Android communities (see these threads for reference: Galaxy Nexus Screen - What's Normal, What's Not. (Photos!) - xda-developers and Galaxy Nexus - Purple Tint + Grainy Screen - xda-developers). Basically, if you do a Google search for ?Galaxy Nexus purple tint?, these kinds of threads are everywhere. And yet, many users report having difficulty convincing Samsung to repair or replace their device. When I spoke with Samsung?s Executive Customer Relations department (their third tier of support) the representative that I spoke with said that their technicians did not consider it a defect, but that it was normal behavior for the Super AMOLED display. If this is the case, then why is the issue so much more present in some phones than others? Flashing a custom kernel with the ability to modify color values can actually solve the problem if the colors are adjusted, suggesting that the displays may have just been miscalibrated. It likely could be fixed with something as simple as an OTA update, but Samsung refuses to look into solving the issue at all. I?ve been through hell ever since I?ve gotten my device in trying to get one that works. Many users have had just as hard of a time, or an even worse one trying to do the same. How can we get this issue publicized so that it doesn't get ignored?
