Push notifications won't work on WIFI?

Hey all. I have an LG G3 with the latest Android OS (5.0.1) and latest application updates as well. Verizon is my carrier. This problem started occurring after I updated to the latest OS, and it is quite strange.

There are a selection of apps that will NOT send me push notifications over WIFI. Say, when I leave for work, and my phone transfers to 4G LTE, my phone BLOWS UP with notifications from apps like Snapchat, Twitter, Google Hangouts, ESPN, MLB AT BAT, etc. It seems like Telegram, Texting, KIK, and Facebook Messenger are the only apps that properly send me notifications over Wifi. Here's what's even stranger: I have two Gmail accounts attached to my Gmail app. One account sends me push notifications over Wifi just fine, but the other will only send me push notifications over 4G LTE.

Is there ANY fix to this? Is anyone else experiencing this madness? For someone that is trying to save from using mobile data, you can imagine this is quite frustrating for me.

HELP!!!

Known issue. Workaround is to turn off the cellular radio while on WiFi by going into airplane mode, and to turn off WiFi while using the cellular radio.

Take a minute to search the forums. Here's my fix:

I set my WiFi to shut off when the screen is off and I get all notifications. Its under settings, WiFi and advanced.

I did not have the option to change the settings on my modem. Basically I had to flash back to Kit Kat because my phone became really buggy I definitely don't recommend anyone update their phone with lollipop until the new update

Verizon users seem to be about the only ones having problems.
My G3, that I've had for maybe 2 months now, updated to Lollipop immediately out of the box, during initial setup.
I've had NO problems with it all at.
Lightning fast, smooth as melted butter, no Wifi sync or notification problems, great battery life, usuall 4 hours and more on screen.
Simply been problem free for me.
I have an International G3 (855), unlocked, no carrier branding, so obviously no carrier apps, that I'm using on AT&T.
