[Q] VZW OTA Update - Lose Tether Hack?

VZW is pushing out am update to deal with connectivity issues and sound - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 update touches on connectivity and sound - Android Community

My question is does this update eliminate the wifi tether hack?

I have unlimited data and cannot use the VZW Hotspot app but I have a widget that allows me to bypass the subscription check and connect devices. I don't want to take this update if I lose this.

I took the update and my wifi tether using "portable wifi hotspot" works fine. Did not check usb tether yet.

I just moved into a condo and was using my phone as a tether. Now I should be getting Internet today, so I'll gladly take the update. Speakerphone volume is weak sauce.

Use a Blackberry 9900 for the email and a note 3 with verizon and the 9900 beats the hell out of the note 3 for speakerphone. Note 3 sucks so I hope they fix it
