What do you guys recommend?. I have heard that FHD is better at battery than QHD. That makes sense to me. Frankly, I have not noticed much difference between the two iterations.

I leave mine at FHD and don't really notice a difference to be honest

QHD. If the panel is QHD , then the power saving from switching to FHD is negligible at best.

I wouldn't expect any noticeable power/efficiency improvement from lighting the panel - but a FHD display takes a good deal less processing power to drive, which could result in some reduced energy expenditure (as well as potentially allow for higher FPS).

I left mine at FHD not to save battery but simply because these old eyes can't tell the difference! Seriously, it looks exactly the same to me. Sad. Anyway, maybe it'll save a little power consumption.

There isn't really any "lighting the panel", it's an OLED. That's the thing, an FHD display would use less power, but you can't actually change the display. the display panel is QHD and always will be.

Have you actually tested to see the power usage differences? Because believe it or not, I have (with an S21 Ultra) and the power saving you get is negligable. We're talking so small that it's indistinguishable from normal variance...

I actually can't tell the difference either lol. That's why I tested both and found there wasn't any power saving to be had... But I paid for QHD (well "WQHD+") and if there's no benefit to not using it, then I'm using it!

As an aside, you can save battery by lowering the refresh rate, but I paid for that too, and I get through the day with it on, so it stays on.

I look at it like this... in in the TV industry, the smallest 4k TV out there is generally 40" (although Samsung does have some at 32"). Below that, you're getting a 1080p (FHD) image. And it's more than fine. Computer monitors? Generally speaking, until you get beyond a 21"/22" size widescreen, few people recommend anything beyond FHD. But the industry thrives on specs for specs sake, so a screen that's about one-tenth the size of one of those monitors 'has to have QHD."

I'm not saying nobody could possibly see the difference, but for me, I'd definitely need to be wearing specs to see the difference these days on a sub-7" phone!

I'll be keeping mine at FHD and rest comfortably knowing that my worn eyes will never notice the difference in resolution, and will be less likely to notice any diminishment in frame rate on games, etc, due to the GPU being taxed (not that I'd expect that either with any modern phone).

Honestly I don't see a difference either, but like fuzzy if I'm paying for QHD and a 120hz refresh rate I'm using it lol. Although I actually do see a difference with the refresh rate :p

Exactly ... That's like my car I don't drive it in comfort mode to save a few $$ in gas ..it's meant to be driven sport

Maybe...maybe it will produce a little less heat when super bright on FHD...maybe. I have gone back and forth and the only difference I see between the two resolutions is that when I go from FHD to QHD the clock in the notification shade shifts to the left when you turn on QHD. You can see it move left and right about 1/8th inch as you tap one or the other. YMMV

My clock is to the left no matter which I have selected.

No, no you are not understanding what I am saying. Yes the clock is on the left...all the time. However while you are actually looking at the resolution selection screen if you watch your clock you will see it shift about 1/8th inch every time you change from FHD to QHD. I see it move every time.

Ok well that makes sense since it is a different resolution. That's as it should be.

QHD+ for sure, battery usage isn't a concern for me and also looks like battery impact in minimum anyway.
