I'm hoping someone has seen something on sale that would work inside the leather back on the Verizon model? So far I can't find anything. Are we sure this, when available, will work? Are the pins in the right config on the Verizon version to have this capability?

I see a shaky one on aliexpress but they have mostly bad reviews and they sent a notice to early orders that they were still testing the quality of it. Has to be something more reliable somewhere. LG could have facilitated this if they wanted to be helpful.

Why do these always have to be sourced in China. This is probably the same source as the aliexpress which seems really unreliable. Do you think it is ok to order this through Amazon?

Well I gave it a shot. Several weeks of delivery time though. So it says remove the original NFC ic chip firstly from the slot of the battery back cover. Can someone show me on the attached pic what this chip is that needs to be removed? Do I just pry it off? I wonder if it can be put back just in case?

I cannot guarantee this but on my G3, the part you swap is on the cove. It is under that black sticker. You would peel that off and and the new one should have come with an adhesive strip to apply the coil, the coil and a similar sticker to cover those items. The exposed contacts under the cover would then line up with the new sticker on the cover.

Yes, if you look at the aliexpress page one of the pictures shows the new sticker on the back cover as i described.

Would this chip work with both the leather and plastic backs ? Would replacing the chip kill the NFC ?
Roger

Should work with both. The chip should have Qi AND NFC, so you shouldn't lose NFC functions. I've got mine ordered but it will likely be a few weeks...

Thanks for the info.
Please let us know how it works out, and if you run into any problems.
Roger
