Anybody have the qik video app crash and force close when trying to open since the latest update

I had that problem, what I found it to be was the original qik service hadn't been stopped. I went into Task Manager, selected services closed the Qik service, then when I reopened Qik everything worked perfectly. HTH

Get them to download the update as well. Last time I chatted with my gf, we were surprised it worked where we didn't have to hold down a button to speak.

hi andrew...my brother has the evo and i have the epic...when he 'qiks' me, i can hear him but he cant hear me...so, u r saying that there is no button to push? we should just be able to start talking to each other and both of us can hear the other???

If you DL the Qik from the Market Place under the Sprint Tab, should you uninstall the Qik that is preloaded on the phone? I am rooted so I can remove the original app if that is the preferred way, unless they somehow need to talk to each other?

I don't know if you should, but I did. It doesn't seem to be an issue.

I just took a closer look at the preloaded version number of Qik and the one you can DL from the Market Place, and both version numbers are the same - Dang! I was hoping they improved the DL version over the pre-installed version.

I have tried Fring, Qik, and ooVoo. For me Fring was the worst, then Qik, and ooVoo was definitely the best - I haven't tried Yahoo or Tango yet.

I think it will take them awhile to get video webcam conferencing to work better. ooVoo seems to work best when connecting PC to Phone - phone to phone sometimes gives weird feedback - and of course wifi for me is the best connection method.

Tango seems to be pretty well liked. OoVoo would be fine if it didn't burn my battery up with constant syncing. I've tried it three times and all three times had to uninstall it to stop massive battery drain.

When I first tried ooVoo it tried to constantly sync - they have since fixed that and I have no problems with battery draining. I have version 1.0

I prefer Qik over Fring,Tango & Yahoo. What I like about the new version of oovoo is the phone to mac & pc video calling is actually working. The only thing that is frustrating is that it signs me out anytime I go from 4G to 3G or Wifi. Hopefully it will be fix in an update.

Yup, I agree with disconnecting part when you change the way data is connected or changed.
