When a new phone drops how important are the benchmark results to you guys? I used to care about them when all the dual-cores started coming out but now it's like mehh.

Just curious...

Not important at all any more. If I ran the test 10 times in a row, my score was different everytime. We are in a day now that how well apps are written and how well your version of android was tweaked matters way more. We don't lack storage or processing power for what we can actually do with our phones. Until someone tries to get full blown Photoshop or AutoCAD running on a phone, I'm saying scores don't matter at all.

Yea it seems like just numbers thrown at you to sell you on how fast it is, when honestly most smartphones are fast enough these days. I don't need to know mflops and benchmarks really just want something that works, which I have!

Nice to get some opinions though.

They mean nothing, it's just a numbers game or pissing contest between OEMs. We're at the point where smartphones are as powerful as netbooks or older laptops. The apps we use take advantage of maybe half of our resources, so it's like being on the autobahn with a station wagon.

They are like the peak horsepower in a car. A lot if fun to brag about, but are meaningless compared to the rest of the powerband and track times

I was thinking more like MPG. Nobody can substantiate the number but if the manufacturer hits that number in the most optimum of circumstances(which nobody will ever drive in), then they can say it.

Numbers only lie when given the opportunity.

Very true.

Photo shop touch. If is from adobe, but hacked down to phone size from the tablet version. Because of that I cannot link to it but Google is a friend
