Quality issue when reviewing photos on phone

Hi,

Has anyone noticed that sometimes (not all the times, but I can't figure out a pattern), when looking at the photos in the stock Photos app on the phone, and when zoomed in 100%, they look distinctly poor quality, with pronounced jagginess and blurriness. It's almost as if they haven't "fully loaded" (for the lack of a better expression), which I think is quite normal when you first open a photo, but should disappear within a second or so, and the photo should be shown in its full quality. I hope I'm making sense.

When looking at the same photos on my computer (via Dropbox auto-upload), they look fine. And like I said, sometimes, they look fine on the phone too, but more often they don't.

Is this just happening to me, or anyone else?

I can try and take some comparative screenshots to post.

Thanks.

Yes, it normally happens with photos from previous devices in the cloud but usually if I download them they come back to full resolution

Thanks for your reply.

I'm talking about photos I just took on the phone itself though, not viewing photos in the cloud.

I have seen this also I wonder if it's a Google photos thing.

The issue I'm having with the new photos update is that when scrolling through photo previews, the thumbnails are blurry until I stop scrolling, then they take a second to sharpen. If I'm scrolling fast enough (like anytime using the preview slider) I see blank thumbnails, then blurry thumbnails load, then the thumbnails sharpen. Anyone else experiencing that?

This will happen with almost anything that you try that is based on the internet/cloud. The speed the pictures load at will be determined by the quality of your internet connection, so you may experience very little of the blurriness, but if you look close enough, you'll see it.
