When you are on LTE and you go to youtube will 1080p ever come up as a selection? VZW rep claims if I choose 1080p in Youtube I am actually seeing 1080p. I believe they are actually throttling vid to 720p on LTE no matter what Youtube menu says? Am I right? VZW rep claims if I can select 1080p nothing would play at all black screen unless I actually get 1080p. I believe it is nonsense but this is tier 2 support and they are very insistent.

Is there any way in LTE I can stream vid and see the actually see what the res really is? I can on my tv but. not my phone

I do see in YouTube stats for nerds that I am getting 1080p on Youtube but throughput is below 5 mbps which is what Netflix demands for 1080p. I wonder why Youtube gets 1080p on 3mbps but Netflix requires 5 mbps. Even more strangely when I check my lte speed in the browser it is 15 mbps!

Do people in beyond unlimited plan get 1080p in youtube? Would u check for me?

You are seeing 1080P. The speed is just set to be optimal for 720P. Depending on network conditions it could stream fine even on 1080P.

It's a pita I can't get 1080p in Netflix unless on wifi. If you download from Netflix it is also 720p. I have Nationwide 500 and after 90 min on tier 2 they swear I should get P 1080p on Netflix but I do not.

Yeah the plan only allows up to 720P. If you get any more on any service you just have to consider yourself lucky.

NW500 SHOULD continue to get 1080p according to vzw tier 2 support. I know BL doesn't but Im still NW500

Yeah.... I don't trust reps. Any reps. It was stated awhile ago that the throttle will trickle down (which most agree it has from what they see).

Yes, her first claim was an outright lie, "Google did it with an update so my phone would run better". When I said that was ridiculous I follow tech forums and people would scream blue murder she dropped the Google did it argument entirely

Yep that is why I don't trust reps. I only use them if I have to in order to make an account change. Otherwise I go to reddit and talk w/ people since there are more true tests/answers there versus from reps.

Ya I don't do reddit I only come here. I first asked NW unlimited users about this issue and never even gont a single answer. I would like to know if they have done this to all of us.

I suggest Reddit. They have /r/Verzion and /r/VerizonUDP (this one is specifically for the old school UDP).
