On the iPhone, the app store icon would show you when any of your apps needed updating and you would then open the app store and update your apps. On the HTC One, how do you know when apps need to be updated, and how do you do it?

There is an option in the Play Store settings to have a notification when downloads are ready.

I have automatic updates turned off, but I get notifications of updates (in the notification pulldown) waiting to be applied.

If you hit those notifications it should take you to the spot in Google Play Store to update them. If you are just at main screen in store there will either be a down arrow with a line above it in the upper right section of screen or on phones with menu button then you select menu->my apps. Either way it shows your apps and the ones with an update are at the top of the list.

I knew that, but thanks for the advice. It might help folks who don't know much about the update process yet.
