Question about Auto Brightness

On my HTC 10 I would set my brightness level and then if I was outside I would use auto brightness, when I turned auto brightness off it would return to the level I had previously set. On this phone when I turn auto brightness off it stays at the level that auto pushed it to it doesn't go back to my previously set number. Is there any way to do this or do I have to reset it every time?

Seems it doesn't return. Not sure if intentional or a bug. I would hope they fish it. I'm using an app called lux. Works better than auto mode. I use it because their auto mode goes too dark for me

Since my LG G4 worked like you are describing (off auto = stays where auto was), this would seem to be the normal LG behavior.
