Question about fast charging

Hi all, I've been playing with my S22 Ultra today which I absolutely love love love!

I'm really confused though about one aspect. I used the cable that came in the box with a Samsung 25W fast charger I bought. In settings under "battery", both fast charging and super fast charging are toggled on. I just assumed that super fast charging was for when you plugged in a 45W charger and that fast charging was for the 25W charger.

So I plug in the 25W charger and the lockscreen says "super fast charging". And sure enough, it charged my S22 Ultra from 76% to 81% in literally a few mins. Like the time I plugged in the charger, got up to the kitchen and grabbed a snack, took a quick bathroom visit and returned.

I was astonished and blown away but I'm really confused how the 25W charger can register as super fast charging. And even more so how it can charge so incredibly quick.

Fact is, the terms are essentially arbitrary. I think above 10w Samsung calls it fast and above 20w it's super fast... But my 9w wireless charger "fast charges".

What you may not like is that going from 76-81% your phone wasn't fast charging or super fast charging at all. It likely would've been just as fast on a 10w charger.

Maybe they call 45w "super Duper fast charge", "fast charge+" or "fast charge ultra".

The term they use for the 45w charger is "super fast charging 2.0"

I have the Samsung 25w Super Fast travel charger. With battery at 41%, here the remaining charge time per setting:

Super fast - 24 min
Fast - 58 min
Neither setting enabled - 58 min
