Question about feel

I want to know if this phone is comfortable in the hand and has a solid build. I want something that will hold up. Does it feel like a moment in the hand because I am looking for feel here. I guess only people who have seen it in person might be able to answer this. I know it isn't out yet. Thought I might get lucky though.

Supposedly, it feels sturdier than the other Galaxy S phones because it is thicker due to the QWERTY keyboard. It is MUCH slimmer than the Moment, so it will not feel the same in hand. This is what I heard and saw through many reviews, but I have not actually felt the phone.

as long as this thing feels better than the pre I will be very interested in this. That is my concern. My pre is so toy like in feel it is hard to believe it is a phone.

Well, it is made of plastic (not the screen, but the casing) so I fear the same as you. The back is soft-touch, so its like the back of the touchstone backing on a pre. The screen is glass, so that's good at least. It should hold up better to scratches. They said it was surprisingly light, considering its slightly taller and fatter than the evo (not by my .06" fatter), yet weighs less. We'll see at release I guess. I'm more anxious to know if they stuck a good SD card in there, kinda rediculous that the Evo only got a 8gb card when the HD2 got a 16gb. If they stick a 16gb card, I'll be very happy.

Epic IS getting a 16gb sd card. They confirmed that.

A lot of people are beginning to say the keyboard reminds them of the touch pro 2. That's music to my ears. As far as the slider itself- no idea till we see the production models on the street- as prepros rarely illustrate this well. I've never found a SLIDER I was crazy about- (Much preferred the Sidekick 2 for a SOLID build.) but I think the phone will be adequate.

Palm was troubled largely due to the pebble shape - since this phone is rather simple in design, I don't think the sliding mech. will be much of a problem.

I LOVED the capacitive buttons of the EVO- they worked when you wanted them to and I didn't have accidental presses- hopefully with the samsung- it will work just as well.

I can tell you the slide on the pre isn't because it's pebble shaped it's because it slide and tilts the screen as it opens.

I don't mind plastic on a phone. I actually like the rubberized plastic over glass or metal. as long as the screen is glass I am good.

I got to handle one for a few hours about 3 weeks ago and it feels pretty good. Yes it has a plastic feel but wow the screen is amazing!
