Question about microSD card I bought for my S7

Hi, I just ordered the S7 yesterday & bought a 64 GB microSD card as well. I'm not really familiar with how they work because I've never had one and I know it can be used as an external storage, but can I use it to transfer games from my S5 to my new S7? I've got some games that I don't want to lose progress on. Does Samsung Smart Switch work for game progress? Or am I pretty much just screwed unless I physically find the files in my S5 and jump through hoops to move it to the S7?

Unfortunately I don't think so. Ive got a few that are registered to my email so it's transferable to other devices, but I've got two more that I'm worried about. One of them required me to use Google play so I don't know if that saves it to my Google account or not. But neither of them have an export option
