Question about migrating contacts/calendar...

I'm running a storm 1 right now, but my contacts and calendar are using my gmail account. (i.e. if I'm on gmail on my computer and add a new contact, it sync's up to my phone automatically).

If I use the same gmail account on my TB on Thursday (knock on wood), I'm assuming I don't have to do anything to migrate over to the TB. Is this correct? I of course will have to copy over any pictures from my SD card...but besides that, everything should be done via my google account.

I just want to verify this, otherwise the good folks at best buy may want to copy all my information over when I buy the phone and when it syncs, it could duplicate all contacts.

Yeah as soon as you plug your gmail account into your TBolt it'll ask what you want to sync. Just tell it to sync contacts, calenders, mail, etc. and you'll be good to go.

If you do by chance get duplicates for any reason just log into VZ website and go My Services --> Backup assistance and you can change anything that syncs from gmail to your actual phone contacts that you don't desire to be there. Had issue where all of gmail contacts sycned to my phone and then saved to backup assistant. So needless to say I spend hour removing those 150+ contacts from my sync lol.

You will be amazed how easy it is to switch from BB to Android! You will in turn beat yourself up for not doing it a long time ago!

You can also download Google Sync on your Blackberry and It will sync your callender and Contacts with your Gmail account. I already did this with my Storm 2 now just waiting on Thursday.

I'm not screwing with ANYTHING Two days wait and I'll just sign up via my Google Apps account and I should be off and running!

(anybody want to purchase a Storm 1?)
