This is probably a really easy question, but I can not seem to find the answer.

I am switching over to a new replacement fascinate. I made a nandroid backup through CWM recovery of my old phone. When I restore this back up will it restore my ROM and kernel on my phone?

The new phone they sent me was on DI01 and would not start the OTA upgrade to DL09.

I was running DL09, supaclean, and Adrynalyne's test kernel #6, and the nextang theme.

Thanks in advance.

The backup does not contain the kernel.. (as far as I'm aware)

Do this:

1. install clockwork recovery, and root...
2. Restore your backup from sd card (contains system data, apps, settings, user data.)

3. Install whichever kernel you wish to use.

You should be back to the point that you were before the replacement.

this will work but the radio will not be the DL09 version,,i would flash either DJ05 or DL09 via odin http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ckworkmod-recovery-return-stock-use-odin.html

then do what was suggested above

Yeah the key was would I have to flash DL09 since the OTA would not push to my phone. I did that now I am going to get everything back together. Thanks for all the help guys.

I was really trying to figure out if the nandroid backup contained the kernel and radio. I flashed the backup first and found out it contained neither. Easy to fix with the method above. Doing that process right now, will let you know how it goes.

Seems to have worked like a charm. Baseband is on DL09, flashed my kernel and rooted via clockwork mod to the red CWM.
So nice not to have to reinstall all my apps and reactivate them like on my old BB when switching phones!!!

your right about the modem. forgot about that. but he wouldnt have to go through all that other stuff. why root? he has a nondroid back up on his sd card. flash red and flash nondroind and then kernel. all without even having to boot past recovery.
