Question about notifications and screen swipes

I'm a smartwatch junkie... So I'm already drooling over this one, especially since it will work with a non-Samsung phone (I have a LG G4.)

My questions:

1. Do notifications pop on the main screen similar to Android Wear? I haven't seen a watch face yet on the internet reviews that show anything like the Gear 2 Neo, where as you could see a messages icon with the little number of how many messages are waiting to be viewed. My concern is, I want to be able to see I have a notification from the main screen when I lift my arm, etc. I don't want to be forced to turn the dial just to see if anything is waiting.

2. Do you have to use the dial to move between screens, or can you swipe as well?

Thanks in advance!

Also, I want to thank everyone for posting here about the watch. The working apps thread and the ones about hangouts have been super helpful on helping me answer big questions I've had. Lots of good information here!

#1 yes, notifications do pop up on the screen when they come in. You can set the watch up to vibrate when they come in or on the 3G model it can give you an audio alert. If you miss a message you can swipe back to see them. There are a few watch faces that shows icons and if you have messages, you can tap on the icon to see all messages. Also, I read that in a future update there may be a notification on the watch face showing missed messages.

#2 you can swipe and tap to navigate around. I rarely us the dial.

I hope this helps.

The latest firmware update that came out in Korea this week puts a small orange circle on the watchface for any missed notifications. The update will probably reach other regions in the coming weeks.

I will point out, however, that unlike Android Wear, you don't have an option to display notifications on the always-on (ambient) watch face. This means that if you don't notice a notification when it arrives, you will not know you have one until you wake the screen.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the feedback!

I was looking at getting the 3G version. This is the most useful for me as sometimes I get too far away from my phone during the day for the BT to reach. And I want the speaker. :)

No issue. If you have any other questions let us know. Hopefully we can help.

I just got a S2 classic that I use with a Note 3. I can't don't get alerts for text messages. I notifications for messages turned on other gear app and vibration turned on in settings.
