Are you able to change from a 2 year contract to a 1 year contact at all? Even if you just signed up and are still in the 30 day trial period?

AFAIK all new evo activations require a 2 yr contract/extension.

That being said, if you are a sprint premier customer (i.e. have a plan that costs > $99/month), you qualify for the upgrade discount every 12 months.

If you are in the 30-day window they can probably figure it out, though it might be a bit of a headache. The first 30 days doesn't count anyway.

Just curious, why would you want to change it?

That is the premier plan rate for a shared line plan. You also qualify for the premiere plan if you have a reoccurring monthly charge of at least 69.99 for 6 months on a single line plan.

oops .. just saw the "i.e." there. Thought you were saying that is the only way to get the premier plan. =)

Eh, still concerned about their coverage. Don't want to be stuck with shotty service for 2 years. Don't get me wrong I love my Evo :)

You should check though. If you can indeed get an Evo with a 1-year contract, the amount of discount + rebate you get with a 2-year contract is actually more than the ETF.

You'll get at least another $200 off the phone with a 2-year contract while the ETF starts at $200 but is then prorated. So if you decide to keep it the full two years, by only getting a 1-year contract you're just costing yourself an extra $200+ for no reason. Even if you only stay a year on a 2-year contract, you'll only owe $120.
