Question About Sprint's Coverage

I live in Upstate, New York and was wondering how the Sprint Coverage is in the area. I looked at the map and most of the places look fine BUT I want to know what:

Off-Network roaming means because one place I frequent has that and I want to make sure I get data/voice there.

Can anyone help me? Do you expect Sprint to improve throughout the next two years (contract length) with 4G coming and all?

WHere in NY? It really depends on where you live! I know in the Lake Gorge area where I visit from time to time its ok...SLOW 3G though! Like just about any where I have been. I left Sprint about a month ago for ATT. Better 3G coverage and speeds in my area. HSPA+ will put Sprint's dial up network to shame.

But on the brighter side of things you get 30 days to try out Sprint. Go down and grab a phone. Try it out and see how the coverage is for your self. Thats really the only for sure way to know! Use the device like you normally would. Because if you ask someone who really uses data Vs someone who just texts a lot can be a WHO different world!

Sprint recently changed their return policy. You now have 14 days.

I currently have Verizon so I am used to great speeds. I just would like to save some money on my bill and Sprint or T-Mobile would accomplish that the best.

Only you will know if the coverage and speed of the network will satisfy you so give it a shot and use your 14 day return policy.. Lots of people like it and hate it. Also check s4gru website and see when the network vision is hitting your area.

Off network roaming is using another companies towers. Just depends on which one. I still have all features when I go to different parts of Oregon. Sprint is pretty much everywhere and only place I absolutely don't get service is when traveling over the mountains..but then again nobody has coverage there. I know opposite ends of the country and all but the off network roaming just basically means you aren't on Sprint network, usually still have coverage tho.
