Question about switching phones...

I'm loving my Droid, but I'm 99% sure I'm going to pick up the Nexus one in a couple weeks. My 30 day New contract opt out period expires 3/22, and the N1's supposed to be out 3/23. Again, loving the Droid, but with the N1 being the latest and greatest, it makes more sense for me to switch. I'm also not using the hard keyboard or Dpad on the Droid at all, so that's a factor.

My question is, how easy is it to do so as far as settings, apps, etc.? I have my Droid pretty well customized already, it would be such a pain to do that again on a new phone. Even if I had to switch Droids for some reason - is this doable, or you have to start from scratch? I assume apps that I paid for would be free to redownload, right?

For the apps, use Astro file manager to backup your apps, and don't forget the file when you move it to a new SD card & phone.

I'm not sure how the market would work, BUT this will do the job as well.

The market is tied to your primary email account on the phone. It'll remember what you've purchased or downloaded.
