Does anyone think that when we get the update it will include native video calling from the phone screen? I read that there is support for it but it's just not switched on, on t mobiles end.

Well, OOS is on 9.0.7 and T-MOBILE variant is still on 9.0.

T-MOBILE been taking features off as well, so I would not hold my breath. Don't like how they are doing this so far.

T-Mobile version is currently 9.04 with November security updates... Not 9.0

I have the T-Mobile version and when I go into the about device section my Oxygen OS version is 9.0 are you on 9.0.4? If so I wonder how you got that? I also saw it just say Android Version 9 so I didn't even see a 9.0.4 version there. I do however have the November security updates.

Ahhh, nope not for me and not for many other T-MOBILE folks. I have not seen any news that T-Mobile variant gotten any OOS updates since release.

I am on November patch though.

The T-Mobile carrier minority variant of the OnePlus 6T is currently, in spite of its 9.0 update, running about stock OnePlus firmware for OOS 9.0.4 and 9.05 on its ersatz model and firmware. Thus putting it around only 2 updates behind the stock, global, model. Obviously, being a carrier minority variant, it is still missing some of the features of the worldwide, global, model. Updates for this variant are the responsibility of T-Mobile (USA).

Bottom line... If you want the features and frequency of the updates of the global OnePlus 6T... you should have bought it.

as long as I get the security updates I'm not concerned. Easily sold if I'm upset. Corporate validation of updates is what slows down distribution... That should be common knowledge these days.

But I do think complaining about 9.0.4 vs 9.0.7 is kind of exaggerated

I didn't realize it was at 9.0.4. I don't understand why it doesn't show that as the Oxygen OS version on the phone then? But maybe T-Mobile does things differently.

I would have bought the global version but I wanted to add a line to my account anyway to use for work, so I was able to take advantage of getting the phone for free through T-Mobile so that was hard to turn down.

Saving $280 is well worth the minor delay in OS updates. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't notice the differences between the minor updates anyway unless they were pointed out.

I got the phone free from T-Mobile after trading my Samsung s6. Can't miss out on that deal.
