Question about Tethering apps from the Market

A while back I saw a post here talking about Verizon not letting their customers use tethering apps from the market, or something along those lines.

Is this true, or am I simply misunderstanding the news?

Can we verizon users use Tethering apps from the Market or the Amazon Market?

Can we Verizon users use Tethering apps from the Market or the Amazon Market?

What you probably read is that VZW is doing its best to prevent the use of unauthorized tethering apps, but, so far, has not succeeded in eliminating the practice.

What has occurred is that VZW has requested that Google not display unauthorized tethering apps on their Market, and Google has complied.

However, if you access the Market via Wifi, either on your phone or via your PC, you should be able to download them. Only VZW cellular connections to the Market appear to have tethering apps blocked from purchase/download.
