question about the fingerprint reader in Android phones.

I want to know since Google made their own fingerprint reader, if a company like 1password was to come along and make it so you can log into your account with the fingerprint reader, will 1password have to make a whole new design for Samsung and htc since they use their own api?

I'm sure they can leverage Google's hardware and API's. 1password's main asset is their data base I'd wager.

1password already works with TouchID on the iPhone and iPad for a while now so I don't see why the Android version wouldn't work.
