I know that the TB is not global capable, but I really am not interested in calling from my phone that much.

Erm, I know that If I text or try calling someone from my phone, I would get charged for roaming, right? (Or is it not even possible to call or text someone)

Could I use Wi-fi though?
Like, at my hotel?
Or would I get charged extra?

Yeah, just use Skype or similar for phone calls and web based texting services. Leave the phone in airplane mode is all you do.

Airplane Mode + Wi-Fi then use Skype for Android.

I can only hope for when Google Voice goes international!

The phone will not make a connection - over 1x 3g or 4g. WiFi should work. As for being charged for it, that depends on where you are. Hotels in Europe are generally pricey for WiFi.

I paid almost $20/day at some of the hotels I stayed in when I was in Norway. That was $20 US....or 120 Kronor
