Question concerning vibrate/silence ringer

Before I downloaded 2.3, putting the volume all the way down made it silent...now, as far as it will go down is vibrate----am I missing it? surely there is a silence ring mode?

Please help?

I think that's all we get now. You can use a widget to toggle silent.

I use an app from curvefish called SilentMode OnOff... works perfect.

Or there's an Audio Manager widget you can create yourself using the Extended Controls app from the Market. This is a terrific app that can be customized in all sorts of ways to control settings from your home screens.

Some of the other things you can control (beside the standard Wifi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, and GPS on/off) using the Extended Controls app include screen brightness, screen always on, time-out for screen backlighting, auto-rotate (on or off), torch (using X as a flashlight), and lots more. You can choose backgrounds, colors among other things. It's great!

you have to go menu>settings>sound>vibrate and set your vibrate behavior to be how you want it. annoying for sure, but thats how it is in froyo

If you get Beautiful Widgets, you can just put the Beautiful Silence widget on a homescreen. The volume rocker on my phone goes all the way down to vibrate, but I can make my phone silent by just touching the Silence widget.

Can you expand on this? I think I just realized that "vibrate" just turns my phone silent...can't get it to vibrate. I'm using SwitchPro widget to toggle between vibrate and silent.

How should I set up the vibrate functions?

Really only way to make silent mode work is threw settings. I believe there are widgets in the market that allow u to bypass it
