I love this app so far, but I have searched all over to find out what this symbol means. I have a red explanation point showing up on one of the people I am texting with. What does that symbol mean?

I know with Handcent this means that there's a message that wasn't sent. Could it be the same with Chomp?

That is what I thought, but the person on the other end is getting all of the text messages that I am sending. Maybe its not a big deal since my messages are still be recv when I send them.

When ever I get the red exclamation point on my messages it means it did not go through but sometimes I still get a response back from the person texting me so Im guessing it still goes through somehow even though it shows it doesnt. If you hold down on the screen where the red exclamation mark is for about 3 secs it will come up with options to retry to send or cancel.
I mostly only see this happen when i go to send a message and right as I do another messages comes through at the same time.

Ok, that is what I thought. Thx for the option of getting rid of the icon. It was driving me crazy that I couldn't get off the phone. I decided to try out HandcentSMS for the time being.

Thanks for the help rxpx33.

Chomp would be a better choice. Handcent lags down the phone a lot, and i have heard of non stop problems lately with Handcent losing Texts, and stuff. plus i had that problem with Handcent not to long ago. It would tell me the messages wont send but they were sending. Chomp is definitely the way to go in my eyes. But anyway

The problem with the Red X usually happens when the application has been installed and the phone hasn't been restarted since or in a long period of time, It should stop after a restart. Also with some carriers it expects a response to let it know that the message has been received but gets confused when there is non so its shows the exclamation point. I say reinstall chomp, get rid of Handcent, restart your phone, and you'll be happy.

quic: we know by your other posts that you don't like Handcent, but the OP is posting about an issue with Chomp, not Handcent. Plenty of people use Handcent without any problems, so I would suggest the OP try both and make their own decision.
