Question on the ban going forward and the P30 series

I've been reading about this today because I have a chance to get a new phone for a great price on my carrier in Canada and the P30 is one such phone. Everything about the P30 interests me, but what do we think about this ban being modified and Google backpedaling on supporting older Huawei phones released before the ban? Basically do we think the P30 is going to end up abandoned or forced to update a non-Android OS onto it?

This is my understanding.
A. It's the government and not Google dictating.
B. Huawei can't get GMS on new devices.
C. Old devices have Google GMS, Google Apps, and will till they are trashed.
D. If the license isn't extended, and it has been extended before, we won't get new updates originating with Google.

I really like my Huawei P30 pro for the camera but I have to connecct to my Chromebook and Google Home Mini so I'm looking for alternatives for the future. For now, I'm happy with my Huawei.

Why would you not be able to connect to your Chromebook if GMS is never being removed from the phone? Wouldn't it just age like any other Android phone that stops getting updates at some point?
With regards to google updates, what I read published 2 days ago was that updates from Play and GMS will keep happening because they don't require direct interaction between Google and Huawei. The P30 has the ability to receive the updates, Google sends them out to any phone that can get them. They never actually directly "shake hands". Now whether Google includes the P30 on their list of Android 11 phones is another matter but that could have happened even without the ban. Most phones only get two Android versions in their life. Did it get Android 10?

The news is getting updated quickly this week... so now Google and Huawei have both reiterated that any phone released before May 2019 (So, the P30 line) will never stop receiving Google or GMS updates until they naturally would have anyway by natural end of life like any other phone. And Google also said that app developers will continue pushing updates to all apps on different OS version numbers regardless of phones including Huawei pre May-2019 phones because that doesn't in any way involve interacting with Huawei directly. And that's all been confirmed by several industry experts, tech journalists, etc for whatever that is worth. But that was all confirmed only in the last days. I did read one analyst that said for the enormous numbers of people in the West with Huawei phones from before the ban, Google would have a massive PR nightmare on their hands if they went back on that and actually REMOVED Google from those Huawei phones.

My only concern remains that if you get a P30 today, how do you know what version Huawei firmware it comes with, what version of Google Play and GMS it comes with and how do you know if a Huawei update that it maybe gets while doing an initial update isn't a 'post-ban' one that could potentially cause problems with Google software. Or is that not really possible?

How do you like it by the way? I heard the P30 line can't run Camera2API at all so that that limits what the camera can do? Is that true?

The P30 pro new edition got released March 2019 so thank goodness I'm still gonna get updates & app updates coz on of my games forces you to update if you don't update it a few days after the updates gone live.
