Question Regarding 4G Backwards Compatibility

So I know the radio in the Epic supports 4G and 3G. My question is will it be able to support less than 3G? My hometown (Cleveland, Tennessee), currently doesn't have 4G, but it does have 3G-no problem. There are, however, a lot of places nearby that have 1x. Will the Epic support 1x (Evo users can surely chime in here lol)? Just wondering about that, and haven't seen the question asked yet. Thanks in advance everyone!

yes. The 3G is CDMA, So 1x will also be supported
