Ok, I currently own a Motorola Xoom. I feel it's kinda sluggish, kinda on the heavy side when I've used it for more than 10 minutes. I then noticed Samsung was coming out with their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It's lighter, thinner, more portable as such. I was kind of excited!

Then, reality hit and Touchwiz was crapped onto it. Sure, it's actually snappier BUT, why in the world not just make it snappier without the crapwiz having to be added? Android tablets are not exactly the cream of the crop right now when compared to iPad's.

People say companies need to distinguish themselves from the competition, can't have stock on all devices and blah blah. Maybe it's time to face the fact that Apple is ONE company, with ONE tablet look, iPad and iPad 2 are a year apart after all, running on ONE version of iOS. Hardware wise, sure, they could both be better. But they're selling MILLIONS of those tablets. It just works and it works well.

I think it's time these various Android tablet producers realize they need to compete on quality hardware instead of messing with the UI. I love the look and feel of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but I will never put up with any kind of Touchwiz crap.

Am I the only one who feels that way? I know stock Android fans are in the minority in the real world and in general consumerism, a lot of people seem to like Touchwiz and Motoblur.

To be honest with you, I had never hear of Touchwiz before they pushed out the update on my Samsung G10. The only differences I've noticed are quicker responses when I type something on the internet.
Like this post. There used to be a delay between hotting the button on the keyboard, and it showing up on screen. It's better now.

I agree on the snappier tablet, sure. But imagine if stock and Touchwiz were equally fast. The updates will take forever to hit the Tab 10.1 now with the UI overlay for one. Fragmentation issues beginning with the tablet.

I'm in a love/hate relationship with my HTC Thunderbolt right now. Sense is the only overlay I will go with other than stock. But the updating of the device is horrible. Still no 2.3 and nowhere in sight either. At least it's good to know they have some 2.3 devices coming out soon!

Which makes me wonder again, is it really necessary now to purchase a new device each time you go for a .1 update? Starting to feel and look that way because of UI overlays.
