Did I make a mistake by purchasing a T989 with UVLDG it's currently running 2.3.6 I'd like to run at least 3.x but running 4.x stock without having to run a mod.

Thanks

No phone that I know of runs 3.x, however, you can update to 4.0.4 right away. Just download Kies (http://kies.samsung.com) and do the update. I've been running 4.0.4 since July and it's great, and we're scheduled for Jelly-Bean sometime next month (hopefully).

And yes, this would be the stock ROM from Sammy/T-Mo.

P.S. It's possible you'll have to go through a couple of update processes before going all the way to 4.0.4.

Figures less than 5min after i posted that kies was installed and updating me to 4.0.4 =)

Just want to throw out there. 3.x would be Honeycome. Mainly for tablets.

I also want to point out one other thing:

Honeycomb was a separate Android version and UI for tablets, but Google found it more useful to have two UI's, one for each versions, ICS and JB, with build.prop affecting which kind the OS uses. I've already worked with DIY CM development for the GSII, and the Android tablet UI would work well with the device due to the large screen.
