Questions for a friend

My friend is planing on getting the S4 pretty soon on Verizon but is there any thing besides the lock screen lag that I'm hearing about that I should warn him about? Like warming up, battery, settings that should be turned of, ect And yes I know the S4 hasn't came out on Verizon yet (as of this post)

I have zero lock screen lag.
