Questions for those using Marshmallow

With regards to the Nexus 6, will Marshmallow activate the notification lights without root? Also, is there a silent mode available.

The Nexus 6 has notification lights? It has total silence, vibrate only, priority only, etc.

Yes, it is hidden by the top speaker grille. With Lollipop, it is only turned on by rooting

No lights....

There have been modifications to the 'Silent' mode... but you'll have to look into whether or not it suits your needs. It seems everyone has their own particular view on what silent mode is and since 5.0 dropped, it can get complicated.
