Quick question guys regarding contact list

Is there a way to choose what the primary number is for someone? For instance, I have a friend whose home number is listed as his primary but I would rather it be his mobile. Any ideas?

the way i do it is, open up the contact, and long press the number you would like to be the primary number you will get a pop up menu with a few options one being to choose the number as the primary number.

Works for multiple email addresses too.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for SMS texting. Sometimes I can't remember which number is a home and which is a mobile number

If you use Handcent there is a setting to only display mobile numbers when attempting to search for a contact and text them.
