I am a proud owner of an Optimus V. This little guy has been great for me, and thanks to its great development community, it is more than I could have asked for. However, I feel like upgrading at this point, and need some advice. I have recently seen the T-Mobile Exhibit II 4g, which looks like a steal for 30 dollars a month and some great specs. However, I am a bit worried about the coverage, as I've seen a mixed bag of good and bad reviews. So I'm here to ask, what do you all think about T-Mobile? Should I switch to their 30 dollar prepaid plan? It's almost exactly the same as VM's, except they only offer 100 anytime minutes. Are the 4g speeds worth the trade? I would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

I'd say it depends on the comparison between the VM service in your area and the T-Mobile service in your area, and how much you use wifi, at least in my personal opinion.

For me it's not worth the extra $5

tmobile coverage here in LA is better than VM, but VM has the better all around plan, then again, im still on the 25$ plan on a Triumph.

I had a Galaxy S long before tmobile came up with that plan, if I had any idea they would, id be with them still. but the Triumph seems to outperform my old GS on many levels so its a wash up.

the Exhibit 4G looks like a nice phone. personally I couldnt see myself going back to anything less than a 4+ inch screen, idk how I survived on the OV for so long haha

I'm in the same position. The Optimus V is solid but it has it's drawbacks. I was considering upgrading but decided to just buy a tablet instead. You can pick up a tegra 2 tablet for 300 dollars. That'd kick the Triumph's butt.

For around 250, you can also pick up a Samsung Galaxy Player. Aparently they've been making these since the beginning of the year? First I heard of it was earlier tonight though. Its like the Android equivelant of an iPod Touch.

Anyways, I figured I'd throw some ideas out there. Good luck!

i did the OV / tablet thing for awhile. the OV was always my sidekick to my laptop, netbook, or tablet.

its not as nice as it sounds to lug both around.

i think if my phone is the device thats on me 24.7, i want it to be usable for all my tasks instead of splitting the work between multiple devices.

the galaxy player is nice, i got a hands on with it recently. but its a phone without the phone. might as well get a nice phone thats also a phone and have just one device

Splitting your devices isn't a bad idea. If one quits you still have one to communicate with.

@watskyhotsky Yeah that is a good point. Years back, carried a pocket PC with me everywhere because I used it as an mp3 player. It did feel a bit redundant, and I later upgraded to a phone that played music.
