The last two days my 6 Pro has on a few occasions had trouble with swiping down for the quick toggles.

After trying to unlock using my fingerprint millions of times and failing, the quick toggles menu only works when swiping down on the lower part of the screen.
After that it goes back to normal and works fine.

Anyone had this recently?

Are you using the stock Pixel launcher, or a 3rd party launcher?

Mine has done this a few times too. I'm on the stock launcher. It's annoying though

Have you been playing around with the One Handed Mode option recently?

Let's hope it stays gone! One more question -- do you have any big widgets at the top of your screen? Just wondering if the phone might be mistaking your swiping down from the top to be an attempt to interact with a widget.

Has happened in any screen and any app. Only temporarily. Once I drag down on the lower part of the screen for the drop down menu it goes back to normal.

Try going into safe mode then back out , sometimes fixes weird glitches

Mine has *done it a few times and it is annoying. Trying to figure out what causes it, or at least what precedes it, but the only thing I've noticed it that it seems to be after a failed unlock, but not after everyone. When I notice it, I'll turn the screen off and back on then it works.

No big widgets. Only chrome widget which is on the lower part of the screen. As it has been with all my phones.

Yeah same it's always after a failed or many attempted unlocks.

I found out what the "issue" is. There is no issue. It's because of the stupid wasted space all across the top of the home screen with the clock and date in the upper left (that entire area which is the whole top row, is dedicated to the clock/date). To test, add enough shortcuts or widgets to the home screen so you can add another page to the right. Once on the page (or pages) to the right, then swipe down on the top fifth of the screen on that page. It then works perfectly every single time.

It's because of this, I've made the page to the right of the actual home page, my home page. I gain another whole row of space, don't have the stupid wasted space at the top and can make my home page identical to what it was on my Note 8 since I had it set up for 5 x 5 grid as well.

Hope this helps!

Doesn't swiping down work from any part of the screen? On my 6 Pro, I can swipe down from the middle or even the bottom of the screen, and it'll bring down the notification panel.

BTW, the inflexibility of the At A Glance widget is one of the reasons I always use a 3rd party launcher like Nova.

Given there's the option to turn off 'At A Glance', it's a shame that it doesn't completely free up that space instead of just retaining the day/date - especially when there's redundancy with most of the stock clock widgets. I personally like the at-a-glance, but would prefer to be able to resize or move it.

Oh yes, but when you swipe from the top fifth of the actual home screen with the clock/date, it doesn't work which is what this thread is about. I discovered it when testing and thought I'd mention it here. The way I found out was if I slow swipe from the top fifth, it would ask which app I wanted to open with which made no sense until I realized it was suggesting my calendar app. I then made the connection that the top row is reserved for the clock.
