QuickPic problem

Has anyone installed the QuickPic app, from the Market, and gotten it to work on their Atrix4g SD card?

After installation, it gave me the message that there were no pics found on my SD card, and was my card mounted?

Well, the card is mounted, and there are pics there, for sure. The built-in Gallery displays them, fine.

I uninstalled, then re-installed the app, but with the same result.

I emailed the developer, who responded within minutes, and he had no solution, other than maybe a new version of his app might work, which isn't yet available in the Market.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

it has something to do with how the sd card is registered in the system...instead of /sdcard its located at /sdcard-ext or something like that. several of the after market media players have the same issue and won't see the external sd card

I just tested mine, since I had all my pictures in the internal SD.

I moved some to the ext SD, re-ran the media scanner (I had widget for that), and re-ran quick pic again.

I could see it there.

Usually the pictures would be listed as:
Camera (2)
/mnt/sdcard/DCIM

I get this after moving the picture to the root directory of the external card.
sdcard-ext (1)
/mnt

I get this after moving the picture into a folder called pictest in the external card:
Picstest(1)
/mnt/sdcard-ext

...

My Quickic version is 0.9.9

Yeah I noticed when transferring my files between my PC and SD card that, on the PC, it's simply SD Card/ *WHATEVER FOLDER I NAMED HERE*
On the phone, it turns into /mnt/sdcard-ext/*WHATEVER FOLDER I NAMED HERE*

Or, something similar to that scenario. Kind of annoying, but as this is my first android-powered phone, I thought it was part of android, not specific to the atrix?

It seems part of the Atrix.

In the captivate, the external SD card is listed as a folder within \sdcard (internal SD card)

So it's like \sdcard\sd (i can't recall the actual name, but it's within this folder) to browse the external SD.

Took me a while to figure it out the path of the external card.

Had a couple more email exchanges with the Dev, this morning. He's incredibly helpful and enthusiastic.

He had the suggestion to add an additional search path for the app, in the app's settings. In the end, what worked was:

/mnt/sdcard-ext

So, that completely solved the problem.

My thanks to all.

BTW, one of the ways this Gallery app is superior to the built-in one is that it allows you to set the order in which your image and vids appear. Another feature which I really like is that it automatically resizes each image to the maximum size which fits in the display.
