Today was a bad day. I was taking some pictures with my not even one month old GNex and it just died. This is what happened. So... I took a few pics left the camera app opened and put the phone asleep pressing the power button (I do this when I plan on using the camera again so I can swipe to the camera on the lock screen and it opens quicker). When I swiped to the camera on the lock screen the camera app opened but I immediately could tell something was wrong as everything was shifted to the left (in landscape mode the picture take button was in the middle of the screen). I hit the back button, then it gave me the popup that the camera wasn't responding and it was force closing. When I tried to open the camera app again it said that the camera was not functioning properly and could not open. I tried this several times with the same popup. I figured I would reboot and it would fix the problem. I shut the phone down and could not get it to power back up no matter what I did. My GNex was completely stock. Took it to Best Buy (where I bought it) and they could not get it to power up. So now I'm stuck with a Samsung Fascinate loaner phone until I receive my new GNex. Hopefully I don't have to wait much more than a week.

Let us bow our heads in honor of your fallen Nexus. Now everyone clap your hands, and say yeah!

Wow. I'm really curious to know what happened there. That's quite an odd problem. Why not just go to Verizon? They may have been able to replace it for you on the spot. Or calling customer service would have gotten you the device within 2 days.

I had the same thing happen to me doing the same thing with the camera but a reboot did fix mine. Didn't help that I was surrounded by ifools :-(

Because like he said he got it from best buy.

I really have no idea what happened. I even tried another battery from a GNex just to eliminate it wasn't the battery. I bought it at Best Buy so I had to go through them. I was hoping for an in store exchange but they don't do that anymore. I keep the battery and sim card and they just send a new phone.
