Radio issue?

Ok so heres one for the sprint techies... so i'm rooted and running "reborn rom" w/ xionia recovery and reverted to Xionia 013 kernel. i would/ will stand in the exact same spot on a call and it would start "blipping" in and out, on thier end still sounds great on my end. If i'm not on a call in the same spot i can watch the signal go up and down (no bars to 5 bars and back down) all w/ in a few mins. it happens/ happened all the time. I have since reverted to "nameless rom" and it still happens... what do you guys think have i killed it, is it the kernel, the roms, or is just the radio in my phone kicking the bucket? :-\ thx in advance.

Edit: it can be any spot, inside outside. Didn't start happening till i went to "reborn rom" used the "dirty" flash method. Have since completelywiped and reverted to nameless rom backup.

i had to go into roaming app. hit the network settings button
mode preference is digital only hybrid.
band mode is any
roam is any
hybrid preference is on.

after doing this it seems to be running right. not sure kinda a newbie myself but i played with it and got more than i had anyway. good luck
