The ram on this beast continues to be reported in two vastly different quantities: 4Gb and 512Mb. The latter seems likely but so many places are reporting 4Gb. Which is it?

I didn't even check which phone this post is about, but I am certain the 4gb refers to on board storage, 512 to the ram.

I just realized the news release says "4Gb" that's gigaBIT
meaning it's actually 512MB, megaBYTE

Although that is true I think the LG PR team is stupid and they meant GB.

Why would you need dual channel for 512MB?

Considering most android phones are getting 1GB of ram 512 seems low for a 3D capable phone.

I am pretty sure they put gigabit on there to fool us... this phone looks pretty gimmicky.... Froyo? and dual core?don't go well when their competition was Samsung with the Galaxy S2....

***I just re-read your reply - ignore my post.... I am getting all in a muddle between G's and D's!***

You will get allot of EVO3G lovers saying that the EVO3G has 1GB where we have 512GB (system RAM). However clock speed is not definitive on any system.

The O3G has the dual channel system that is much more efficient (avoids bottlenecks) than a single channel one. Also the O3G has 8GB of storage RAM as well, where as the EVO3G only has 1GB.

What I have also read is that the EVO3G hasn't got such a wide angle for viewing as the O3G, so you have to be more precise when viewing the screen.

Saying that both are excellent phones, getting pretty much a tie in most comparisons - I just chose on personal preference and that good old 'gut feeling'!!! :D

I think you're getting RAM and storage and processor speed confused.

I hope it comes to the US as well. By the frequencies it would seem ready to go on Sprint's wimax. It's up for preorder already in Europe.
LG Optimus 3D #P920 - eXpansys UK
Works out to about $830 US

It is coming to the states on AT&T as the LG Thill 4G. I'm getting it for my wife on her upgrade in December. On a side note, I will be upgrading to the HTC Holiday/Raider/Inspire HD in December as well.
