RAM usage

I noticed some of my games were lagging so I closed all my apps and took a look in task manager. What I saw was over 50% of my ram being used. I don't know how to fix it, if rooting will help. The only way I would be willing to root is if I could find tutorial that covered backups.
Any help is appreciated!

Using RAM isn't a bad thing. Unless you are troubleshooting a specific issue, you should avoid interfering with Android's RAM management.
