Ramos i9

Always very difficult to say how a device will perform in the real world just by reading the specs. I'd wait to see if any actual reviews come out, either from users or from real tech blogs. One concern that always remains for Intel processors on Android devices is if all apps will be compatible, because earlier Intel processors were incompatible with up to 30% of apps.

I purchased the tablet and received it 2 days ago, haven't been happier in my life. The quality is amazing and everything is just perfect. This is so far the best Chinese tablet I have owned. It is smoother than most of the famous brands like Samsung and Asus tablets. Definitely get it. You wont regret it.

Haven't seen any incompatible apps so far, having nearly 25 apps. quite happy with it, the size is just right, I had some time with my friend's nexus 7 2013 the other day and his Ipad mini, although they are good devices, this beats them hands down, Nexus's screen is a tid bit small for me and Ipad mini's resolution isn't as good. Funnily even with a Dual core CPU, everything feels snappier than the new nexus 7.

There is no root at the moment and popular chinese root apps like vroot can't support rooting i9 at the moment. I assume it won't be long. Something that I quite liked about it was that although it came with 10 chinese apps, I was able to uninstall all of them but one from the settings=>apps, the remaining one is a weather widget. It looks clean and leaves hell of lot memory for other apps, 1.2 out of 2GB.
Double stereo speaker is a huge point.
I'm not a seller but since i have had bad experiences with chinese tablets before, I recommend buying them from dealers on auction websites like aliexpress.com rather than independant dealers. auction websites have return and refund policy similar to ebay which ensures a refund in case the item is not as described.

I bought one this week. I am also very satisfied of the product. I managed to update the tablet and root it, the process is quite easy.
Follow this link for tutorial > Ramos i9 AIO Thread - SlateDroid.com

The only thing I am disapointed with is that on the 16Gb announced. only 12Gb are available and some of the 12Gb are already used by the preinstalled app. But anyway there is a micro SD port so I will just add an extra 32Gb card.

really which part, I have trawled that link and its for x86 boxes with terminal access and adb access.
This tablet Ramos i9 has neither.

EDIT - i trawled some more - Thank you Genius!! Post #16
Ramos i9 I am now rooted.

Now how do I backup the Original Rom....
TWRP and CWM recovery managers want to install recoveries, is this safe for this CPU?
Otherwise what is another good Rom Backup. ( I want to install update from Ramos website but I didnt get the Ramos their and Im worried about having different hardware, missing drivers from the place i bought it ( ALiexpress)

Thanks Again!

Hi,
Help needed.
I rooted my Ramos i9 (using a different thread than the SlateDroid one). The root, after some trial and error, was successful HOWEVER the speakers have stopped working. I can only get sound through the headphones :-(

Have performer factory reset, unroot, reroot, unroot again. Nothing helped.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?
Any solutions?

Else I'll have to send it back for replacement...

Thanks guys!
