RANDOM apps showing up on main screens

I recently had this problem with a new HTC phone purchased from Hong Kong. It was regularly popping chinese ads on my home screen when I unlocked it and was connected to wifi. I ran Malwarebytes and it found the DCShare app was infected with malware (from the factory???!...) I couldn't delete this app - it's an HTC file share app pre-loaded on the phone, so I disabled it and NO MORE ADS!
Use Malwarebytes - it'll solve this problem!

I had this crap come outta nowhere, too. Go into Settings, Applications, Application Manager and look "App Widget" - then click Force Stop and Disable. Some phones you may be able to uninstall. That will stop the piece of sh!t from popping up every time you go to use your phone.

Same! I have this new phone and idle miner tycoon and 3 tipes of solitaire have popped up on my phone! And I haven't downloaded the apps!

Welcome to Android Central! You posted in a 7 year old thread about the ancient (and terrible) HTC Thunderbolt. I suggest creating a new thread in the Ask A Question or General Help forum.
