random buzzing noise during calls

My dad's stock phone has randomly made loud buzzing noises during his calls. Sounds similar to speakers that make a buzzing noise before a cell phone call comes in. It won't stop until he hangs up. Has happened 3 time within the past week and a half.

Any luck with this? My phone is doing this too.

I originally thought it was a Google voice problem but I seldom use that line and it is still there. Happened with a Gingerbread rom, stock 2.2.1, and now with the OTA Gingerbread.

May not be the phone. Take your dad's phone on a little trip to another town. Find another cell and place a call.

May be your local cell tower.

This has been happening to me for the past few weeks. I called Verizon today and they are sending me a certified like new replacement.

I would be talking to someone and then they wouldn't be able to hear me. All they would hear was buzzing, either continuous or intermittent-.only when i tried to talk. Annoying. I don't think its the cell phone tower because I had the piece of crap thunderbolt for 4 months, and the droid incredible for a yer and neither of them had this problem.

i also have had the same buzzing noise and ive changed phones and different carriers and still has the ringing buzzing . Now i just wait for it to finish . Im so done at this point

I was experiencing the same issue & it was driving me nuts! Not to mention I had this problem straight out the box.. what finally helped was turning out the voice response option in Bixby settings.. I figured maybe that voice response was picking up my voice while on a call thinking I was giving a command.. Turned it off & it was instantly better!
