Random & Constant Restarting

So I just bought my HTC Evo on launch day and as soon as I walked out of the store it asked if I wanted to update it. I clicked yes. It downloaded the update but it didn't install. It asks me if I want to install it and of course I click yes. Well then about to seconds later my phone shows a picture of an Evo with the red triangle with an I inside. I didn't know what that was. I left it like that into I got home. Plugged it to the charger and left it for another 30 minutes and it was the same so I figured it must have not updated. So I pulled the battery. When I turned it on and it didn't ask to update again. Well ever since then my phone keeps shutting off and on randomly and many times. It did it 8 times in a row once. I want to know if there's a way to re-update the new update to it. Please help. I tried searching for this but I couldn't find anything. Thanks.

W O W ! ! Over 30 views and no one could comment on it? Thanks! Its no wonder why I liked the Precentral.net community way better. And while I'm leaving this post here, my phone shut off and turned off 2 times. And that's no exaggeration. So I might just go back to best buy and give them their HTC Crap back and go to my Palm Pre. Ugh!

Pumpkin, settle down.. maybe those who viewed it don't know what to do, just like me....... I would not know what to tell you. I know my Evo gave me the "sprint" and "4g" screens 5 times in a row yesterday after I messed with the Quick System Info app I installed. I promptly uninstalled it! Have you installed anything that messes with the system at all?

Take it easy on the comments about the community... you need to give it some time before your questions are even read by some of the more advanced users.

Thanks! At least someone says something about it. I have no clue if this is just my Evo or everyone's is doing this. And I guess I'm just a little aggravated because I upgraded so I could get a better phone and my Palm Pre is proving to be a better phone then the HTC Evo. And I hate not being able to fix something wrong with my phone like I've been able with my Pre. But yes, I was a little harsh. Sorry. Like I said, I'm just irritated at the fact that it happens ALL the time.

Easy fix.. take it back. Something is obviously wrong with it.

Mine kept rebooting today. After the 2nd time, I uninstalled the last app I put on there (some kind of task killer that I can't remember the name of). Problem solved.

I haven't seen mine reboot so far. It asked to reboot after the OTA update when I first turned it on, but that's it. I'd definitely take it to Sprint and see what they say.

Thanks! I appreciate it! At least now I know that other people do get it too. I'm going to go take it back Wednesday.

Do you have advanced task killer installed?

Mine has been restarting everytime I use the GPS. I uninstalled advanced task killer and it stopped doing it. But, I tried using Google Nav and it restarted again. Mine is doing it while I try to use the GPS.

Mine has done this three times in the past 16 hours and has required a hard reset to "fix" the problem. If you happen to turn off the phone, allow it to run out of juice (far too easy by the way), or pull the battery because of a "stuck" app you'll find yourself doing the same thing. Three of us in the office have new EVOs and all of us have experienced this. None of us had downloaded any of the same apps so I doubt it is a specific app causing the problem.

Has anyone unchecked "always-on mobile data"? I unchecked this for the battery saving tips, but have now found this may be the issue everyones phone is restarting. I checked mine back on again, and have not had a restart since. Hope this helps anyone

mine is set to always on and it still restart.

I just started having this problem today (it did it maybe 5 times in the last 2 weeks but today it has already done it about 15 times and it's only 10 am.
It seems to do it mostly when I'm using google maps but also does it when I'm not (when I am it does it over and over and over)
My screen also stops responding and i can't swipe through the screens or pull down the notifications bar.
I already had horrible battery life (at most it's held for 4 hours with minimal usage...once only30 minutes of gps and then screen off (task killer closed everything before turning it off) and it was dead in 2 hours.
If I can't fix this now, it's going back...praying that radio shack near me has some i can exchange with.
