Random Freezes

Hello all, idk if this is my fault or anything, but I've been having an increase of random restarts. They happen most of the time when the battery is low (like around 35 and less), and happens when I wake up the phone when its locked. Oddly though, when I play music, nothing happens, it's just when the phone is idle and wakes up then I press on something (like the browser), or swipe from left to right then it freezes for like 10 seconds, and restarts. Cpu is at normal (600 Performance)

What's you min cpu speed? Also, maybe try higher, or a different rom/reflash

With the performance governor it doesnt matter what his min CPU is, it always runs at 600 Mhz. That could be his problem, I think I remember problems using the performance governor, I always stick to ondemand. Try a different governor, dwappo ;) that's my suggestion.

Thanks for your suggestions, I wouldn't of thought it would be that,

I'm going to see how Harmonia 2 works (nice and fast so far ^^)

Your welcome;) hope it works

I'm overclocked on BACKside to 825 MHz:D its lickety split fast, my friend with a Droid took one look at my optimus and his jaw dropped because scrolling was so smooth and everything worked so smoothly.

Now how does OC like, work? I'm kinda scared not to OC that high because I heard you can break the phone (and other people saying you cant xD). Also how fast does the phone seem to run when OC'ed that high?

It doesn't force close or anything for me. It works fine, 825 is as high as you want to clock though. OC'ing makes everything run faster and makes all the animations run smoothly (ever seen how smoothed iPhones are;) ). I've noticed SMS works faster at these speeds too, especially when you have alot of messages in a thread. Games like angry birds work better too. You can find the oc settings in cyanogen settings.

Rule of thumb: start at 480MHz min. - 748MHz max go up one setting at a time until the phone auto boots. Then go backdown 2 settings. This is where you can safely overclock to. Then open up gallery if it forcecloses then go back down 1 setting.

The min is where the phone idles, do not put above 480MHz. The CPU will run hotter, the battery runs hotter, and the battery drains faster.

Every phone is different. Start with 748, then move up. Some phones push 825 and 850, most can't.
I usually sit at 768. Anything over that my phone crashes more often then i care to see.

Thanks again guys, I just flashed Harmonia 2, and it actually runs smoother than IHO (wierd xD), 1 more question, anybody know like in detail what each governor does? (like I know Peformance is just the max setting, Power Save is the min, but what about the others?)

If I push mine even one step above 600 it get random crashes and reboots but it seems rock solid at 600.

How low can you set the low setting safely to extend battery life?

A user awhile ago did a survey of battery settings on different ROM's over and unclocked
for the monimum there is no battery difference between the 122MHz and the 480MHz. Your min for the best performance can set at 480 and use the same battery at a phone on stock 245MHz

the max overclocking as said before varies

Has anyone ever stably run at 864 without force closes? I've never gone up that high, but it'd be awesome... wickedly fast awesome.
