Random loss of service.. :/

I am running 2.3.3. But Ok, here is the run down. When I am texting and such throughout the day, I will just lose service. It shows I have service in bars, but no 3G or anything. I cannot make or receive calls, nor can I send or recieve texts. Then in a few hours to a few days, I will get service and 3G back and I will receive all of my texts and calls that were sent to me during that dead period. I know I should be getting service because my mom and brother both have the optimus s and have great service. Anyone have a fix? This is my second optimus S.

Are you rooted or stock? Go to settings>about phone and what does it say your baseband is? Have you tried updating your profile and prl? Any new apps about the same time as this started? If all else fails try a settings>privacy>factory reset. Only do this if you are not rooted. Verify your contacts are synced with Google (settings>sync and accounts). Be warned though that will erase all user data from the phone so it will have to be set up for Google so you will need to know you Gmail account and password. Rest assured that all data on the sdcard is safe but it is best to back it up a PC just in case.

I am stock. I never got around to rooting. Baseband is LS670MVJ_6150 I have updated both the profile and prl and It did nothing. No new apps the same time it started. Contacts are backed up on email. Its weird though, with my microSD, when i put it in my computer. nothing shows up exceept the main folders on the SD, and the adapter is not locked. Then when i put it in my phone.. it shows everything.

Just did a hard reset to my phone and It still wont show 3g... or send or receive texts and calls.. it just shows a text as "sending" and never pops up as fail to send.

Then I would say pay a visit to a sprint store that does service.
