Random reboots and battery issue

Ever since the last OTA, my tablet has randomly rebooted a few times. More annoyingly, I've had battery issues. It doesn't appear to reflect the correct percentages. Just a few minutes ago it was at 17% and I got the pop up warning to plug in my charger, which usually only shows up when the battery is below 14%. Not 30 seconds later, the entire tablet just shuts down. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Android Central! If you haven't already done so, try wiping the cache partition, which won't lose any important data:

  1. If your tablet is on, power it off.
  2. Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
  3. Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
  4. Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
  5. While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
  6. In the Recovery Menu, highlight "Wipe cache partition" and execute.
  7. When done, Reboot System Now.

Thank you for the quick response, I really appreciate it. I'll give that a go and see how it works. Thanks again!

I tried wiping the cache two different times and still had the same issue. I finally just wiped the entire device and will see how that goes. Fingers crossed.

Don't know about the battery issues but the random rebooting issue disappeared after the last few chrome updates. Most of my random reboots happened while using chrome or the android keyboard.

Thanks. The battery went below 14% like normal after the factory reset. However, I charged it overnight to 100% and it's still saying charged even though it's been unplugged for a while. I don't get it.
