My phone has been randomly restarting and I think it has something to do with my power button but I am not sure but my phone lately has been randomly opening up google chrome and then it will redirect me to an app in the play store. The app that shows up in play will be random but candy crush has been the most common. How can I get rid of this or fix my phone? I'm taking it to sprint after Christmas but I am curious if there is a way to fix it without taking it to sprint.

Check in the settings on google chrome to see what the home page is set to. It should be set to something like "google.com." Clear all data in the chrome browser (cache, history, etc). As for your phone randomly restarting, try powering it off and then powering it on again.

So far I did clear everything out with chrome and it keeps happening. For example, I unlocked my phone and an ad just popped up on the home screen, "Make phone faster? Sure or No Thanks" and I actually had to click no thanks because it wouldn't go away. Also I did a soft reset, power down then turn it back on, and I also tried to do a better pull but nothing worked. I am taking it to the store tomorrow because I haven't been able to find anything on the internet to fix the problems I am having. Oh well.

What apps have you installed lately?
And yeah Merry Christmas :P

I downloaded Airpush Detector and it did not find anything. Also I haven't downloaded any apps recently.

No I didn't download Android Booster. I took it to Sprint and they changed my power button and camera so now it all works and I also did a factory reset and so far I haven't had any ads pop up.

The power button may have been causing the reboots, but not the ads. I suspect some app you had installed was causing those, and the reset got rid of it.

I am having the same problem. I have uninstalled every application that I had download and it still does it. I am getting ready to just give this stupid phone away and go back to iPhone. I never had spam issues with Apple.

I also bought Norton anti virus to figure it out and nothing.

I have taken screenshots of some of the pop up as well and no tech friends can figure it out.

Why don't you post the screen shots here?

Before going back to iPhone, you might want to try a factory reset. This sort of spam isn't the fault of Android. You don't see a lot of posts about this problem. It is almost certainly from an app that you installed, or malware loaded from a particular website or email. Uninstalling the app that loaded the malware won't necessarily eliminate the malware.
