Anyone else getting random restarts? I've had a number of them in the time I've had my Note 9. By far the most common is overnight.

I only ever had a few with my 4 yr old S5. I would say I've had more restarts in 2 months of Note 9 ownership than a year of my old S5.

Any reason why?

I've had one definite and one suspected spontaneous restart in the two months I've had my Note9. I'd consider the phone defective if the rate were much higher.

Just curious, do you have Auto Restart turned ON? Under Settings, General Management, Reset, Auto Restart. This allows you to set a schedule to auto restart (I have it set to rebook overnight on Sat night).

As you can see in the link, nothing we haven't seen before and had same discussion with Note 8. I think for 8 owners just software issue and for me pretty much cleared up after a software update and not a single reboot or freeze on AOD since. Phones been pretty flawless since and the Note 8 section is quite boring.

New phone, expect a few bugs to show up like rebooting or freezing camera, etc. and hopefully all gets sorted out in first few months. The positives of monthly updates.

Wipe cache oartion and see. Check the log in Device Maintenance, the text icon. Msybe reported.

Try reporting it is asking in Samsung+ feedback.

Yes I do but funny, it doesn't seem to work. The disclaimer says that if secure startup is enabled the auto restart will not function. Even though I do not have secure startup enabled, my phone still requires me to put in a password after a restart because I use biometric authentication. Which is essentially the same as a secure startup as far as the phone is concerned.

So no auto restart for me.

I did just receive the September patch update so hopefully this will resolve that.

As far as the other poster mentioned about battery dendrites, I doubt that very much. A new battery shouldn't have dendrites. Plus I don't fast charge, overnight charge and don't charge to 100%.

There's no such item as GENERAL MANAGEMENT!
