Random screen activation

I've had my S7 just under a week now. I've noticed now and then the screen will randomly activate. Seems to happen most often right after I press the power button to turn the screen off; it will go black and then almost immediately turn back on. But I have seen it happen even when I hadn't touched the phone in some time.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

The only time I've seen the screen activate spontaneously is when the phone has reached 100% capacity while charging.

I noticed my phone doing this same thing last night. I would use it, then turn it off...screen goes black for 1 second then right back on and fades away. I'm trying to remember if it was only while plugged in, or if it was while unplugged as well.

I also have a problem with it lighting up randomly during the day. Just a bit ago it happened at the same time I got a gmail notification on my laptop, but nothing on the phone other than it lighting up...

Go to Settings/Display/"Smart Stay". If "Smart Stay" is turned on, try turning it off. That did the trick for me

Nope, just checked to make sure. I already had that one turned off.

It's still doing it, though seemingly not as often as when I first got it.

Every once in awhile I will notice my phone lights up (while not on the charger). I look to see if I got some sort of notification, but usually none.

No answer, but strangely enough, this wasn't an issue until I did a factory reset. I've been having little issues here and there and did the reset on Saturday. I noticed the display has been coming on and there's no notification, it wasn't charging, etc. No clue why. I talked to VZW today and am getting a new phone, hopefully all my little issues will go away.

Mine comes on randomly with no prompting even when I haven't touched it for some time like that, but I think the most frequent occurrence is when I've just hit the power button to turn the screen off and set the phone down. Before I've even set it down the screen reactivates on its own.

Go to settings, accessibility, dexterity and interaction.
Make sure it is off. If it is on your sensor may pickup a ceiling fan or movement nearby.
